ELD (Electronic Logging Device) to Present Change and Opportunity

Change is coming to the trucking industry with the Electronic Logging Device mandate taking force this December. If you are unsure about the change or need more information call a representative at Gould (386) 734 3970

Many large fleets have already converted from paper logs to ELD’s. However, many truckers fear the unknown and having to adopt new ways of running their business, additional costs, and new technology. There are additional costs associated with keeping up with the times that are also preventing business owners from making the switch. Some truckers even considering retirement or changing profession.

At Gould we want to do everything we can to help make this process seamless. New processes and technology can seem daunting at first. Insurance plays a big role in the trucking industry and as your trusted insurance provider we do our best to stay up to date on all the latest mandates.

The ELD mandate or ELD Final Rule, is a U.S. Federal Regulation requiring all operators of commercial vehicles to use electronic logging devices

The ELD mandate pertains to commercial driving operations that are required to keep hours of service records. The compliance date for mandatory ELD’s goes into effect Dec. 18, 2017.
